Registration Now Open for NMAR and Sporter Matches
in November at the CMP Marksmanship Center
|
CAMP PERRY, OHIO - The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) invites you to join us in firing the NMAR (National Match Air Rifle) Match in the fall 2012 season on Saturday, 3 November. The competition will feature a full 3X20 National Match course for advanced shooters and a half course 3X10 Sporter-Garand event for new or inexperienced shooters.
The two tracks meet the needs of a wide range of shooters and courses of fire that are appropriate for each. The NMAR course, or Track A, entails elements of a National Match Course service rifle event in that it combines 20 shots standing, 20 shots timed-fire sitting or kneeling, fired at a 200-yard reduced target, plus 20 shots prone fired at a 600-yard reduced target.
In AR Clone Class, Track A, competitors use an air rifle that looks and feels like a modern service rifle. Shooters in this class are encouraged to use the same shooting jacket, sling and other equipment that are part of their highpower rifle gear. They may fire a Creedmoor-Anschutz AiR 15 or Crosman MAR177 in this class. Loaner AR Clone rifles and pellets are available for a small fee at the CMP range. Match Air Rifle shooters are required to use a precision air rifle (ISSF) in the NMAR Match Air Rifle Class. Sporter Class uses a compressed air sporter rifle, typically a Daisy Model 887, Crosman sporter or similar air rifle.
Track B is a 3 x 10 match more akin to As-Issued Military Rifle Matches, with 10 shots slow in prone, 10 shots rapid in prone and 10 shots slow standing, fired at 200-yard reduced targets. This match is fired using a compressed air sporter rifle, typically a Daisy Model 887, Crosman Sporter or similar air rifle.
Competitors may now register for the November NMAR Match by logging onto
http://clubs.odcmp.com/cgi-bin/matchInfo.cgi?matchID=9142. For more information and rules governing the NMAR Track A and Track B matches in November, visit
