Development of CMP’s New Competition Tracker Will Expand
Users’ Ability to Update Profiles and Research Database
By Steve Cooper, CMP Marketing Manager
CAMP PERRY, OHIO - The Civilian Marksmanship Program recently rolled out elements of its new
Competition Tracker database program, which will allows competitors and clubs to update their own information, enter matches, get results, view historic match records and more.
Competition Tracker was introduced more than 10 years ago as a CMP user-oriented database to enter matches, see upcoming matches and view results of recent matches. Most of the information in located in Competition Tracker was stored and managed by CMP staff.
With the new Tracker program, individual users and clubs will have the freedom to view their profiles, make changes, enter matches and more – all in real-time. In past years CMP competitors needed to request changes to their profiles and other information. With thousands of users it didn’t take long to outgrow the system and staff.
When users visit Competition Tracker on the CMP’s website at
http://ct.thecmp.org/app/v1/index.php, they are greeted by a dashboard where they can log in or create a new online presence with CMP. At the dashboard, users can review and edit personal information, view upcoming matches, search for a specific match and view matches they’ve registered for already.
Users can verify their competitor number, make corrections or change name, date of birth, address, contact information and more. They can view upcoming matches by pulling down the Competitions menu.
“We know our competitors and clubs will enjoy using CMP’s new Competition Tracker,” said Dana Lynd, Assistant General Manager of CMP at Camp Perry. “Like anything new in the field of technology, there are growing pains and we appreciate our competitors’ and users’ support during this transitional period,” she said.
“The original Tracker program was 10 years in the making, but we’re making excellent progress on the new platform,” she said. “It’s an exciting time at CMP and I know our participants are going to be very happy with the amount of control and access they will have to personal and CMP programs information.”
